Brian Smith is the General Manager of Miller Motorsports Park and the Chief Instructor for the Ford Racing School. A professional driver and active coach, Smith’s career highlights include Speed World Challenge Touring Car Hard Charger Award winner, multiple podium finishes in SCCA National Sprint and Endurance Races, The 2000, 2001, 2002 One Lap of America Overall Winner. 2005 ROAD & TRACK Standing Mile Shootout winner & 2004 CAR AND DRIVER Supercar Shootout winner.
In addition Smith was a tire development engineer/factory test driver for Michelin/BFG competition tires for 6 years, development driver for Dodge Motorsports & the Viper, Hennessy Dodge Viper, and the driver of the Hennessy Venom GT setting the world's speed record at 270.49mph. Smith drove and coached for the APD - Garrett Racing Team in 2011 finishing on the podium at every race and helped the team finish 3rd in Championship points for the year.
Smith worked with Johan Schwartz during the 2014 Miller Grand Prix at Miller Motorsports Park. Smith coached Schwartz on track and worked with data analysis off track, helping Schwartz secure Pole Position, and his 3rd win of the season in Pirelli World Challenge Touring Car.
